Job Description:
Support development of software applications and integration of diverse hardware and software technologies for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) defense systemsWork as part of a government scientific research and development team and apply engineering, software development, and computer networking skills to lab and field work in support of projects to meet schedules and deliver advanced technology solutionsField work can last a week or more at a time and include system testing and military technology demonstrations.
o Develop software applications in Python, Java, and other languages to integrate and network various CBRN systems and technologies.
o Under the direction of project leads, integrate applications, sensors, instruments, and platforms into operational systems.
o Develop Android and web applications and support modeling, CAD, and electrical/electronic system requirements.
o Support systems testing in the lab and field to demonstrate functionality and performance and to collect customer feedbackWork includes equipment/instrumentation packing for shipment, setup and wiring, system checks and repairs, training, data collection, and retrograde duties.
o Work as part of a team in an open concept lab setting akin to pair programming to develop mission critical systemso Remain current on upcoming technologies and related subjects in the literature and news.
o Assist with the preparation and presentation of training and demonstrationsEducation:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related disciplineJob Requirementso Must be a US Citizen eligible for a security clearanceo 2
years Python and Java coding experience (college & internship experience applies)o Experience writing code for hardware/software integration o Electrical/computer engineering experience/courseworko Proficiency in another object-oriented programming language o Excellent oral and written communication skills in Englisho Ability to multitask and complete work within schedule Bonus points if you have:
