We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support Post Production Software Support (PPSS) and Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) engineering and technical services to the CECOM IEW&S Directorate Sensors and Mission Division (SMED) based in Aberdeen MD with operations located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
Successful candidates will support our customer in creating capabilities and providing technical services, subject matter expertise, Systems and network solutions and services for platforms such as the Long-Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3), Biometric Automated Toolset Army (BAT-A), Second Generation Forward Looking Infrared (2GF), Persistent Surveillance System Tethered (PSS-T), and Common Sensor Payload (CSP), Guardrail Common Sensor (GRCS), Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System (EMARSS), Tactical SIGINT Payload (TSP), Airborne Reconnaissance Low (ARL-E), Small Tactical Radar Lightweight (STARLite) and a full range of related Aerial Sensors Suite of Systems.
This support is an essential in maintaining readiness for today's modern platform sensor systems.
Primary ResponsibilitiesAs part of a multi-functional, heavily matrixed team, this Network Administrator will be responsible for managing a variety of program networks and servers across a range of intelligence gathering platforms.
This work involves the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of the networks, servers, and various network devices.
Provide essential software and network support for associated laptops, desktop personal computers, and printers including the configuration of the hardware devices and the testing of new software.
Lead a team of 4
personnel responsible for designing the structure of the network and recommending the procurement of necessary hardware, software, and ancillary support components required to keep the labs and associated systems operational.
Monitor system configurations including any server event logs.
Responsible for managing the testing of the operating system software, the networking software, and the network/computer hardware.
Responsible for monitoring server backup requirements and developing the procedures for backups.
Responsible for monitoring and executing security patching of the network and associated systems.
Ensure all systems and network recovery documentation maintained to reflect the latest lab infrastructure changes.
Responsible for recommending and maintaining the electrical and network load balancing of the systems within each lab.
Act as a mentor to the team, run team SCRUMs, provide weekly technical reports to both the PMO staff and government leadership.
Basic QualificationsA Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline and 8
years of prior relevant experience or Masters Degree with 6
years of prior relevant experience.
Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Understanding and experience in the complete life-cycle of the software in military systems.
Currently possess an active Top Secret clearance.
Communicates with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members.
May communicate with parties external to the organization (eg, sub-contractors, vendors, etc.
).
Works to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
Must have knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, or system administration of Unix or Windows networks/systems.
Experience with vCenter Server Appliances, ESXi Hosts, Linux, and the Windows Operating System and tools.
Experience installing, configuring, and managing switches/VLANs.
VMWare experience to include VCenter and VMotion.
Experience managing Security Groups, User Profiles, and Shared Drives within Windows Server.
NetApp configuration and management experience.
iDRAC configuration and management experience.
PowerChute configuration and management experience.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated experience working within matrixed teams.
Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding and experience in the complete life-cycle of the software in military systems.
Familiarity with CECOM Software Engineering Center (SEC) Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) & Post Production Software Support (PPSS) processes a plus.
US Army aerial and terrestrial sensor system experience.
Familiarity with or experience implementing and using the Engineering Edge Quality Management System.
Understanding and experience in the complete life-cycle of the software in military systems.
Experience configuring and sustaining WSUS patching cycles and remediation.
Image creation and distribution experience.
CCB documentation submission experience including origination of associated documentation.
Reserve inventory requirements gathering and management skills.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
